How Today’s Environment Affects Our Hair and Scalp

Advice and care

Due to the current situation we are going through, an increase and worsening of hair loss and scalp-related issues have been observed. At TR10, we believe that continuous research and study are essential in order to provide our clients with the best products and solutions.

That is why we rely on the insights and recommendations of our collaborators:

RAFAEL CEBAQUEVA
(Creator of the Connection Method)

“Given the prolonged uncertainty we are living in, it is expected that our body will show symptoms related to a key factor: distress (understood as anxiety, anguish, restlessness, a constant sense of danger, etc.).

At this moment, professionals need solid information to confidently explain the consequences of the current situation.

In my opinion, it is essential to provide strength and encouragement to clients, helping them stay consistent with their treatment. We must support them throughout the process, highlighting even the smallest improvements.

It has been observed that, due to high levels of anxiety, certain conditions that were previously occasional have become more frequent, such as seborrheic dermatitis, perifollicular keratosis (localized scaling in the infundibulum), and trichodynia (pain, burning, itching, and scalp hypersensitivity), as well as an increase in both the intensity and frequency of different types of alopecia.

There is also a growing need to strengthen preventive treatment protocols, as the causes of these conditions are often difficult to resolve and may remain latent.

Thanks to the feedback provided by professionals regarding their clients’ responses, I can develop criteria and conclusions to better understand trends in hair and scalp conditions.

The integumentary system (skin) and its appendages (hair) are the first indicators of what is happening inside the body. This allows us to perceive the accumulated impact of the current health and social circumstances.

Being aware of this reality leads me to focus on solutions that contribute to restoring scalp balance.

It is also important to reassure clients by informing them about all the tools available to help them.

My recommendation, both for professionals and clients, is not to wait until clear symptoms appear. Preventive use of shampoo and lotion strengthens the scalp and hair follicle, improving resistance against current conditions.”

JOSÉ MANUEL MARTÍNEZ
(Head Nurse of the Hair Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine Unit of Dr. David Sampayo)

“We are facing a shift in the trichological paradigm driven by the current global situation. We have been pushed into unexpected circumstances: for some, financial hardship; for others, the rise of remote work; and for many, increased workloads… situations that have often led to emotional exhaustion.

Stress, anxiety, and shock are now very common terms in trichology consultations. These situations not only affect emotional well-being but also lead to changes in diet, physical activity, and sleep patterns.

These three factors are crucial in most types of alopecia, which makes us consider their direct relationship with the increased severity and persistence of hair disorders since the beginning of this situation.

For trichology teams, it is essential to help patients understand the impact of stress, working together to improve treatment outcomes.

During this process, TR10 helps maintain the follicular complex and the scalp in optimal condition, alleviating a wide range of hair-related conditions.”

As you may have noticed, TR10 currently benefits from clinical insights provided by José Manuel Martínez, helping us understand the development of hair conditions and define effective approaches to address increasingly persistent issues.

By combining the fields of hairdressing, biocosmetics, and clinical practice, we create a meeting point that allows us to advance towards more effective treatments for hair health.

At TR10, we are continuously working on new product combinations to enhance results depending on each case. Our goal is to provide the best possible response and effectiveness to our clients through ongoing research, improved protocols, and new tools.

We have demonstrated that TR10 works. However, to be even more effective and adapt to new circumstances, continuous observation of evolving conditions is essential in order to develop personalized treatments.

For all these reasons, we invite you to contact us. We will be happy to answer your questions, guide you with tailored strategies, and provide you with all the information you need for you and your clie
